Pakistani stars are set to light up the Big Bash League (BBL) as seven national players begin arriving in Australia early next week ahead of the tournament’s 15th edition, scheduled from 14 December to 25 January 2026.
Sources told Geo Super that players will start landing in their respective cities over the next few days, with several already coordinating with franchise staff for acclimatisation sessions. Training camps across BBL venues are underway, and Pakistan’s contingent is expected to join immediately upon arrival.
This year’s BBL has a strong Pakistani presence, headlined by Babar Azam, who will make his much-anticipated league debut for the Sydney Sixers. His first assignment is a blockbuster opening clash against the defending champions Perth Scorchers at Perth Stadium — a matchup already generating major buzz.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, picked as Brisbane Heat’s first overseas platinum signing, is also drawing significant attention.
The rest of the Pakistan group includes:
- Mohammad Rizwan – Melbourne Renegades
- Haris Rauf – Melbourne Stars
- Shadab Khan – Sydney Thunder
- Hasan Ali – Adelaide Strikers
- Hassan Khan – Melbourne Renegades
BBL franchises have reportedly set up special fan zones and promotional activities to welcome Pakistani players, showcasing their growing impact on the league’s global pull.
With 44 matches scheduled in prime evening slots, BBL 15 promises another high-energy season. The finals retain the classic four-match format, beginning with the Qualifier on 20 January, leading to the Grand Final on 25 January 2026.
Crucially, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to all participating players, ensuring they remain available for national commitments throughout the tournament.
As the countdown begins, Pakistani players are set to bring star power, packed stadiums and global attention to another thrilling BBL summer.
